Job summary

HKA is recruiting a Director in Chicago to lead its Construction Advisory Services, expanding the practice from Chicago, Atlanta or Tampa. The role sits on the owner side of capital programmes and requires directing engagements like cost recovery reviews, contract compliance assessments, and GMP/pre-construction reviews.

The Director will lead capital programme diagnostics, governance evaluations and project controls design, advising clients on systems such as Procore, e-Builder and SmartPM.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business, accounting or finance.
• At least eight years in construction consulting, capital programme management, construction audit, project controls or owner representation.
• Working knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management.
• Certifications including CCA, PMP, CCM, CPA and PSP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and expand Construction Advisory Services practice from Chicago, Atlanta or Tampa.
• Build a pipeline, lead proposals and client presentations, and represent the practice at industry events.
• Mentor advisory staff and develop methodologies.
• Advise clients on project controls and management information systems.
• Oversee capital programme diagnostics and governance evaluations.
• Engagements include cost recovery reviews, contract compliance assessments, change order reviews and pay audits.
