It partners with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Engineering, and Corporate FP&A to turn infrastructure plans into clear financial forecasts and investment decisions.FinanceThe position supports long-range planning, build-versus-buy analysis, and efficient capital deployment as the business scales. It also provides scenario modeling, ROI analysis, and performance tracking to help leadership make decisions under uncertainty.The posted compensation range for this role is \*\*$234K–$325K\*\*.## Key Responsibilities – Own monthly financial planning and forecasting for compute and infrastructure. – Build consolidation models for GPU/CPU capacity, storage, networking, and data center investments. – Translate infrastructure roadmaps into annual and long-range forecasts. – Coordinate planning timelines and processes with Corporate FP&A. – Share monthly insights with senior leadership. – Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions, vendor-versus-owned infrastructure, and capacity tradeoffs. – Develop frameworks to support executive decision-making on investment choices. – Create dashboards to track compute spend, utilization, and efficiency metrics. – Improve visibility into unit economics, including cost per training run, cost per inference, and cost per customer. – Lead budget-versus-actual analysis for compute and infrastructure spend. – Identify the main cost drivers and reduce forecast variance. – Partner with Accounting on the correct classification of infrastructure spend between OpEx and CapEx. – Build scenario models for capacity scaling, new model launches, and infrastructure investments. – Lead ad hoc analysis on emerging topics.## Required Skills – 10+ years in strategic finance, with experience in infrastructure, cloud, hardware, or compute-intensive environments. – 2+ years in investment banking. – Experience leading an FP&A team at the corporate or business-unit level at significant scale. – Strong financial modeling skills, including capacity planning, unit economics, and scenario analysis under uncertainty. – Experience with large-scale infrastructure or cloud spend, including AWS, GCP, Azure, GPUs, and data centers. – Ability to turn technical concepts such as compute usage, model training/inference, and system architecture into financial insights. – Proficiency in Excel/Sheets, SQL, and BI tools such as Tableau. – Strong cross-functional partnership skills with Engineering, Product, and Supply Chain. – Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure cost drivers and the economics of training and serving models.Corporate Training## Preferred Skills – Experience with planning systems such as Anaplan.## Cloud Platforms & Technologies ### Cloud Providers – AWS – Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – Microsoft Azure### Infrastructure & Compute – GPUs – CPUs – Storage – Networking – Data centers### Data & Analytics – SQL### Reporting & BI – Excel / Sheets – Tableau### Planning Systems – Anaplan## FinOps Responsibilities – Own forecasting for compute and infrastructure spend. – Build models for capacity, utilization, and infrastructure-related investment planning. – Convert infrastructure roadmaps into short- and long-range financial plans. – Evaluate build-versus-buy and vendor-versus-owned infrastructure tradeoffs. – Track spend, utilization, and efficiency through reporting dashboards. – Improve unit economics visibility across training, inference, and customer-level costs. – Analyze budget-versus-actual performance and identify cost drivers such as utilization, pricing, and efficiency gains. – Work with Accounting to classify infrastructure spend correctly as OpEx or CapEx. – Build scenario models for capacity scaling, new model launches, and infrastructure investment decisions.## Why You Might Be Interested This is a senior finance leadership role with direct ownership of compute and infrastructure planning for a major cost center.
