Job summary

Output Labs is building a biology-focused AI platform that interfaces with experiments to uncover actionable biological insights. You will translate complex biological problems into data requirements, design informative experiments, and manage CRO partnerships for synthesis and validation.

The role blends biology, ML, and software to push the boundaries of computational drug discovery. You will work with models and data teams to ensure experimental results inform model development, while staying

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years post‑doc or industry research experience.
• Deep understanding of protein biology and sequence–structure relationships.
• Experience designing biological experiments and working with CROs for synthesis/validation.
• Experience with protein language models or ML on biological sequences/structures.
• Strong Python programming and building computational pipelines.
• Ability to translate biology needs into data, models, and experiments.
• Comfort with diving into unfamiliar biological problem areas and rapid upskilling.

Responsibilities

• Own the active learning loop between models and experimental validation; design experiments and manage CRO campaigns.
• Develop expertise in target biological areas to guide data construction and modeling.
• Collaborate with CROs for peptide/molecule synthesis and experimental testing to maximize information per campaign.
• Partner with engineering to build biology-specific agent skills and workflows for automated decision-making.
• Coordinate with model/data teams to ensure experimental findings shape model learning.
• Stay current with literature and translate new problems into modeling opportunities.
