Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Director of Compensation in McLean, VA to lead compensation strategy and program delivery across the organization, partnering with senior executives and key leaders. The Director will manage risk, strengthen internal controls, and build a high-performing, inclusive compensation team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience.
  • 7 years of experience in compensation, finance, or human resources.
  • 3 years of people leadership.
  • Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Human Resources.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
  • Experience leading compensation strategies at all levels, including C-suite preferred.
  • Experience in the financial services or tech industry preferred.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Compensation to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will lead compensation strategy and program delivery across the organization, partnering closely with senior executives and key business leaders. The Director will oversee incentive plan design, governance, and compensation cycle execution while ensuring alignment with broader Total Rewards objectives. This position also carries responsibility for managing risk, strengthening internal controls, and building a high-performing, inclusive compensation team.

Location: McLean, VA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $230,400 - $263,000 annually
