Job summary

BRICK Networks in Newark, NJ, seeks a Director to design and launch a new Community Doula pathway, recruit local residents, train and credential them, and place them into BRICK's Medicaid-billable Doula Network.

This is a program-design, workforce, and health-care business-model role that will own recruitment, training, credentialing, supervision, reimbursement, and sustainability, with a focus on equity and strong partnerships with hospitals, FQHCs, and public agencies.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in maternal health, community health, public health, workforce development, or related fields with budget oversight.
• Experience building or scaling a program or pathway that is not fully established yet.
• Experience designing or running training-to-employment programs, apprenticeships, or credentialing pipelines.
• Fluency with Medicaid, managed care, value-based care, or other third-party payer environments; comfortable owning a revenue line.
• Strong data skills to drive decisions and build reporting systems.
• Deep commitment to racial equity, family voice, and community-led solutions in Newark.

Responsibilities

• Design the end-to-end career pathway: recruitment, training, credentialing, supervised field experience, employment, and advancement.
• Build the recruitment pipeline from community organizations, BRICK families, alumni, faith networks, and high school students.
• Define the career ladder beyond entry-level doula work: lead doula, trainer, supervisor, and related roles.
• Own completion, credentialing, and job-placement rates and intervene when cohorts fall behind.
• Lead Medicaid strategy end-to-end: certification, contracting, credentialing, billing infrastructure, and revenue models.
