Job summary

AbbVie in the United States seeks a Commercial Strategy Director to support Franchise A development, governance, and alliance management with JBI and Genmab. You will lead cross‑functional business planning, coordinate leadership governance content and staff agendas, and drive critical projects with external partners to improve efficiency and agility.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex matrix

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of relevant experience required.
• Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills to develop and maintain successful partnerships.
• Must demonstrate critical thinking for conflict resolution; risk management; organizational alignment and strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with legal and contractual governance. Experience working with external partners preferred.
• Ability to think creatively and strategically to successfully mediate and negotiate with individuals and groups internally and externally.
• Willingness to be accountable for all aspects of the alliance partnership.
• Ability to work efficiently in a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Reports directly to the Vice President of Franchise A and is a member of the franchise leadership team.
• Develops business plans that incorporate long and short-range strategic planning; works with Finance Director and leadership on these plans; structures planning sessions.
• Coordinates content for leadership governance and develops Staff agenda.
• Coordinates internal communications and culture efforts with functional leadership and PA team – including Franchise A Townhalls.
• Supports VP in interactions and alignment with the alliances to enhance efficiencies and agility in decision-making; collaborates on key co-commercialization projects and capability builds.
• Plays leading role in emerging Franchise A portfolio management – field communication cadence and prioritization of BU1 assets.
