Director US Commercial Operations and Analytics
Rosemont Pharmaceuticals
Reporting to: Head of Commercial, US
Position overview
Rosemont is seeking a Director of US Commercial Operations and Analytics to build the data, forecasting, systems, and operating processes that guide decisions across its US portfolio. This leader will combine strategic judgment with hands‑on analytical ability, translating complex data into clear actions for Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Trade, Supply Chain, and Finance. The role will establish scalable capabilities for launches and in‑market brands while helping design an integrated sales and marketing platform.
Key responsibilities
Forecasting and commercial decision support
- Own launch, in-market, quarterly, and long‑range product forecasts. Build transparent, driver‑based models with base, upside, and downside scenarios and maintain a documented assumptions process.
- Connect prescription demand, access, competitive activity, promotion, channel inventory, shipments, and supply to explain forecast changes and recommend action when actuals differ from plan.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses for field deployment and marketing investment, including changes in reach, frequency, territory coverage, channel mix, and spend.
Data strategy and vendor partnerships
- Define the data needed for each commercial decision and evaluate prescription, claims, payer, HCP, account, channel, CRM, campaign, and other relevant sources for coverage, timeliness, granularity, permitted uses, quality, and value.
- Lead business requirements, vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, implementation, and ongoing performance reviews for commercial data and analytics partners in partnership with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and IT.
- Establish data quality controls and consistent product, customer, account, and territory definitions to support trusted, reusable analyses.
Sales effectiveness and incentive compensation
- Lead targeting, territory alignment, workload and opportunity analysis, field goal setting, and performance reporting as the US field model evolves.
- Design and govern incentive compensation plans with Sales, Finance, and HR; assess whether measures reinforce the intended behavior and whether goals and crediting rules are fair and practical.
- Select and manage incentive compensation technology, such as SPIFF or a comparable platform, and oversee calculation validation, exceptions, and payout reporting.
Marketing and launch effectiveness
- Partner with Marketing to define objectives, audiences, KPIs, and measurement plans before campaigns launch. Analyze campaign effectiveness, incremental response where measurable, and return on investment to guide budget decisions.
- Connect field activity and nonpersonal promotion to identify the combinations that improve customer engagement and product performance. Build launch scorecards with leading indicators and clear action thresholds.
Trade, supply, and market access analytics
- Work with Trade and Supply Chain to reconcile commercial forecasts with orders, shipments, channel inventory, product availability, and supply risks.
- Support Market Access and Finance with payer and account contract analytics, including volume, access, discounts or rebates, net revenue scenarios, and performance against contract assumptions.
Commercial technology and innovation
- Lead the commercial business design of an integrated sales and marketing platform connecting CRM, commercial data, dashboards, forecasting, campaign measurement, and incentive compensation.
- Recommend when to configure existing software, integrate a vendor solution, or build a proprietary capability; define the business case, governance, and measures of success for each investment.
- Pilot useful automation, predictive analytics, and AI with measurable business outcomes, appropriate data governance, and human review of consequential decisions.
Qualifications
Required
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in US pharmaceutical or biotech commercial operations, forecasting, commercial analytics, or business intelligence, including meaningful launch and in-market work.
- Demonstrated ownership of product forecasts, scenario development, actual-versus-forecast reviews, and executive communication of assumptions, risks, and recommendations.
- Deep experience selecting pharmaceutical data sources and negotiating data or commercial technology agreements, including the ability to explain the business value and limitations of each source.
- Experience with territory alignment, targeting, incentive plan design, and incentive compensation operations or software.
- Strong fluency in CRM, business intelligence, and modern data platforms, with the ability to define integrations and challenge technical designs.
- A record of influencing decisions across Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Trade, Supply Chain, Finance, and technology teams; ability to build processes while delivering hands‑on analysis.
Preferred
- Hands‑on SQL proficiency and working knowledge of Python, R, or comparable analytical tools; experience building reusable analytical products or commercial data platforms.
- Experience leading teams or external partners through system implementation, data integration, change management, and adoption.
Measures of success in the first year
- A trusted forecast and monthly performance review process for priority US products.
- A documented commercial data strategy with selected sources, negotiated agreements, and data quality standards.
- Territories, targets, and incentive measures that reflect market opportunity and Rosemont priorities.
- Marketing campaigns launched with agreed measurement plans and followed by actionable effectiveness reviews.
- A usable view of commercial performance connecting demand, field activity, marketing, access, shipments, and supply, plus a phased platform roadmap.
