Job summary

Henry Schein, Inc. seeks a visionary Director of SAP Commerce Cloud Engineering to lead architecture, development, and continuous improvement of the SAP Commerce Cloud platform.

You will drive end-to-end engineering initiatives for high performance and scalable digital commerce experiences across channels. You will guide development teams, define best practices, and own the technical roadmap, including SAP S/4HANA integrations, API-first design, and MACH-compliant, headless architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) development and architecture.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud-native development and deployment in public cloud environments.
• Proven track record leading large-scale, customer-facing commerce platforms.
• Deep knowledge of integration patterns with SAP backend systems (e.g., S/4HANA, SAP ERP, SAP CPI).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team-building skills.
• SAP Certified Development Specialist – SAP Commerce Cloud.
• Experience with headless commerce, composable architecture, and MACH principles.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (Angular, React, Spartacus).
• Background in performance tuning, load testing, and site reliability engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and technical leads specializing in SAP Commerce Cloud.
• Define engineering best practices, coding standards, and agile methodologies across the platform team.
• Foster a culture of innovation, quality, and accountability within the engineering organization.
• Own the architectural vision and technical roadmap for SAP Commerce Cloud (B2B and/or B2C).
• Drive technical decisions, including integrations with SAP backend systems (S/4HANA, ERP, CPI).
• Ensure scalable, modular, and future-proof architecture aligned with enterprise strategy.
• Oversee planning, estimation, and execution of engineering deliverables and product releases.
• Work with Product Management and UX to translate business requirements into solutions.
• Track performance metrics, engineering velocity, and delivery quality.
• Partner with DevOps and Infrastructure to optimize CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment strategies.
• Support shift-left testing, security, and performance validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, QA, operations, and business units.
• Manage external development partners and SAP consultants as needed.
• Comfortable working in internationally distributed teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

We are looking for a highly skilled and visionary Director of SAP Commerce Cloud Engineering to lead the architecture, development, and continuous improvement of our SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) platform. This role will drive end-to-end engineering initiatives, ensuring high performance, scalability, and seamless customer experiences across digital commerce channels. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with strong leadership capabilities to guide development teams and influence cross‑functional strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Hybrid: Time is scheduled between working from a TSM home office and at a company facility, as required.
