Job summary

Duke University School of Medicine seeks a Special Events & CME Director to lead the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of continuing medical education programs and other departmental educational events.

The role collaborates with physicians, faculty, leadership, speakers, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality, compliant, and financially responsible educational programs. Travel nights/weekends may be required as part of events.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree and strong communication and organizational skills.
• Preferred experience includes administrative management, continuing education, and marketing.
• Strong time management and ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate CME activities in line with accreditation requirements.
• Plan and execute wet labs, sessions, and events.
• Manage budgets, invoices, and vendor payments.
• Coordinate invitations, travel, disclosures, and speaker requirements.
• Prepare post-event reports and accreditation documentation.
