Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a visionary Director of Cloud Platform Engineering for Data, Analytics, and Agentic Data Cloud. You will own strategy, architecture, and engineering of Ford's cloud database and analytics platforms built on Google Cloud, driving an IaC-driven, self-service ecosystem.

You will lead a global team, advance DBaaS, optimize SaaS databases, and partner with vendors to reduce cost while delivering scalable, secure data services across product teams.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software engineering, cloud architecture, and data platform services, with leadership experience.
• Proven ownership of large-scale database and analytics environments on GCP (Cloud SQL, Spanner, AlloyDB, BigTable, Firestore, BigQuery).
• Strong hands-on experience with IaC tooling and DevOps practices; able to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Set a multi-year platform engineering roadmap for cloud databases and analytics.
• Lead a global team of engineers, architects, and SREs with a focus on self-service APIs and SLOs.
• Drive IaC-driven provisioning, security, and observability across the data estate.
• Partner with cloud and SaaS vendors to extend platform capabilities and reduce vendor sprawl.
• Own DBaaS strategy and cost-optimization initiatives across the portfolio.
• Define architecture patterns for PDO workloads and promote reusable templates.
