Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Director of Software Development to lead a global team across North America and Europe building systems for cooling, power, telemetry and monitoring, and operational visibility across AWS' data centers.

You will drive the conceptualization and evolution of software services, hire and mentor leaders, and partner with design, mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering teams to deliver scalable cloud-based solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 10+ years in senior engineering leadership roles.
• Proven ability to hire and develop an inclusive organization.
• Experience delivering cloud-based applications at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization of new software systems and evolution of existing software services.
• Partner with data center engineering and operations leaders to align strategy and delivery.
• Drive long-term engineering and product decisions and mentor leaders across teams.
