Job summary
Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Director of Software Development to lead a team across North America and Europe building systems for cooling, power, telemetry, monitoring, and operational visibility in AWS data centers.
You will drive concept development and evolve software services, partnering with design, mechanical/electrical engineering, and controls teams while guiding a growing engineering organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of software development experience
- 10+ years in senior engineering leadership roles
- 10+ years experience driving long-term engineering and product decisions
- Track record of delivering innovative cloud-based applications
- Proven ability to hire and develop an inclusive organization
- Experience scaling diverse, highly dynamic, and fast-growing technical and product teams
Responsibilities
- Lead conceptualization of new software systems and evolution of existing software services
- Own delivery through software development teams across North America and Europe
- Partner with data center leaders to align on strategic direction and act as a technical advisor
- Hire and grow leaders and engineers to build an inclusive top-tier organization
