Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a visionary Director of Cloud Platform Engineering to own strategy, architecture, and engineering of Ford's cloud databases and analytics platforms on Google Cloud. You will lead a global team, champion an IaC-first approach, and drive cost optimization and consolidation of SaaS database products.

You’ll define patterns for Database-as-a-Service, partner with PDO teams to embed scalable architectures, and shape the Agentic Data Cloud strategy across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software engineering, cloud architecture, and data platform services.
• Bachelor's degree required; leadership experience preferred.
• Experience owning DBaaS and cost-optimization initiatives at scale.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi-year platform engineering strategy for cloud databases and analytics.
• Lead global teams of platform engineers, architects, and SREs to deliver IaC-driven solutions.
• Own DBaaS strategy, cost-optimization, and SaaS consolidation across the portfolio.
• Partner with PDO and application teams to embed scalable pattern templates and governance.
