Position Summary

The Director, Clinical Operations plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping and executing Empower Pharmacy’s vision to provide safe, compliant, and innovative healthcare solutions nationwide. This role commands a robust understanding of multi-state regulatory requirements and serves as the bridge between pharmacy operations and strategic leadership. With national scope and deep operational influence, this leader will elevate Empower’s clinical excellence, workforce leadership, and regulatory reputation—delivering transformative value across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads clinical operations with a focus on national regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and strategic alignment to corporate objectives across clinical functions.
  • Partners closely with internal stakeholders—including Legal, Operations, Quality, and Senior Leadership—to ensure regulatory strategies align with business goals and proactively address evolving standards and risks.
  • Designs and drives workforce development strategies to optimize team performance, engagement, succession planning, and professional growth across clinical pharmacy functions.
  • Champions continuous improvement by analyzing performance data, identifying systemic inefficiencies, and implementing scalable solutions that strengthen compliance, clinical safety, and patient care outcomes.
  • Serves as a transformational leader who fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation while reinforcing Empower’s mission to expand access to high-quality, affordable medications.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Exceptional leadership, compliance, and strategic communication skills with a proven ability to present to senior leadership, boards of pharmacy, and national regulatory organizations.
  • In-depth understanding of United States Pharmacopeia regulations, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and enterprise pharmacy platforms, along with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management systems.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and clinical service delivery, with responsibility over large teams across multiple states.
  • Requires a Doctor of Pharmacy degree; previous experience serving as a Registered Director or Pharmacist in Charge is preferred.
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing is required.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making—adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.
