Job description

Position Summary

Oversees the management and facilitates production and quality within multiple onsite Customer IPS engagements. Ensures Customer expectations are met by proactively managing activities and complying with contractual obligations. Provides on-site support, training, and communication to sterile processing department management and personnel. Ensures proper operational processes are followed by all team members in conjunction with standards set by the Department of Health, TJC, DNV, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, and AORN.

This is an onsite role. To be considered, you must be located in, or willing to relocate to, the Birmingham, AL area.

Duties
Leadership
  • Motivate and manage a leadership team to provide excellent service supporting multiple healthcare onsite sterile processing departments, ensuring delivery of contracted and company initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to define, communicate, and reset expectations with the Customer to achieve contractual deliverables.
  • Determine resource requirements to align staff with demand across multiple sites and ensure leadership team possesses this ability.
  • Build and maintain employee engagement, fostering a culture of safety and retention.
Customer Relations
  • Build relationships with decision makers and conduct business reviews to review KPIs and contractual expectations.
  • Ensure delivery of Customer KPIs and resolve issues by identifying root causes and developing measurable improvement plans.
  • Maintain strong relationships to ensure high-quality service within contractual scope and identify opportunities for additional services.
Operations/Processes
  • Understand and manage Instrument Processing Division’s processes across multiple sites, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and new services to enhance Customer service.
  • Manage P&L effectively, driving cost reductions through staff development and process improvements.
  • Use non-conformance data to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Translate and implement business strategies effectively.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 12+ years healthcare experience with 8+ years leadership in manufacturing or related industry; or 8+ years healthcare experience with 6+ years leadership and a bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management skills.
  • Active certification in sterile processing (CBSPD or IAHCSMM) required; must obtain within 12 months if not certified at hire.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, with experience in Lean Manufacturing.
  • Ability to manage remote teams and multi-task effectively.
Preferred Experience
  • 4+ years experience with instrument tracking software and employee management systems.
  • 4+ years medical instrument knowledge and experience in sterile processing, OR, and material management functions.
