Job description

Position Summary

Oversees the management and facilitates production and quality within multiple onsite Customer IPS engagements. Ensures Customer expectations are met by pro-actively managing activities and complying with contractual obligations. Provides on-site support, training, and communication to sterile processing department management and personnel. Ensures proper operational processes are followed by all members of the team in conjunction with the standards set forth by the Department of Health, TJC, DNV, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, and AORN.

This is an onsite role. To be considered, you must be located in, or willing to relocate to, the Birmingham, AL area.

Duties
LEADERSHIP
  • Motivate and manage a leadership team to provide excellent day-to-day service supporting multiple healthcare on-site sterile processing departments and ensure delivery of contracted services and company initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the STERIS Business Development partner to define, communicate, and reset expectations with the Customer to meet contractual deliverables.
  • Determine resource requirements to align staff with contract demands across multiple sites, ensuring leadership can do the same.
  • Build and maintain Employee Engagement, fostering a culture of safety and retention.
CUSTOMERS
  • Build relationships with decision makers at the highest organizational levels and conduct business reviews to monitor KPIs and contractual expectations.
  • Ensure delivery of Customer KPIs and resolve issues promptly by identifying root causes and developing measurable improvement plans.
  • Maintain strong Customer relations to identify opportunities for additional services and ensure satisfaction with deliverables.
OPERATIONS/PROCESSES
  • Understand Instrument Processing Division’s processes, manage and train across multiple sites, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and new services to enhance Customer service.
  • Manage a P&L effectively, driving cost reductions through staff development and process improvements.
  • Use Non-conformance documentation to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Translate and implement business strategies effectively.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 12+ years of healthcare experience with 8+ years of leadership in manufacturing or related industries; or 8+ years of healthcare experience with 6+ years of leadership and a bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Active certification in sterile processing/central sterile via CBSPD or IAHCSMM, or obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Skilled in project management, strategic thinking, negotiation, and influencing.
  • Strong analytical, communication, multitasking, organizational, and financial skills.
  • Leadership experience in Lean Manufacturing and managing remote employees.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with instrument tracking software and employee management systems.
  • Knowledge of medical instruments and Sterile Processing, Operating Room, and Material Management functions.
