Job summary

Race Forward is seeking a Director of Policy and Community Resilience Strategies to lead a core portfolio within the Place, Policy, and Power department. The role focuses on climate justice, health equity, and building governing power with communities of color.

You will partner with local, regional, and national networks to strengthen policy development and advocacy campaigns. You will manage the Policy Innovation Lab, guide cross-sector collaborations, and ensure coherence with Race Forward's

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in racial equity policy advocacy and/or grassroots movement-building with climate resilience focus.
• 5+ years of experience managing teams and leading staff development.
• Knowledge of systemic racial inequity and its intersections with policy.
• Strong understanding of policy systems at local, state, and federal levels.
• Proven ability to design and facilitate multiracial, cross-sector groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead CRS's signature Policy Innovation Lab and grow community-driven policy development.
• Develop partnerships with place-based organizations and coalitions.
• Coordinate national advisory boards and project design committees.
• Oversee research projects supporting policy development.
• Track policy issues across sectors and produce reports.
• Manage grants, contracts, budgets, and internal systems.
