Job summary

AOE International in Champaign, Illinois seeks a Director to lead the Clean Jobs Workforce Hub in the region. This role manages grant day-to-day operations, supervises a large team, and serves as the primary contact for DCEO and the region's Energy Transition Navigator.

Responsibilities include planning, performance management, and reporting while maintaining equity at the center of delivery. A strong background in workforce development and public grant experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of management experience in workforce development, occupational training or career services.
• Experience managing deliverables, budgets, compliance and reporting under a public grant.
• Demonstrated ability to build working partnerships with employers, unions and community organizations.
• Knowledge of the assigned region's communities and labor market; knowledge of construction or clean energy industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for grant management and regional administrator.
• Oversee program planning, training capacity, referral plans and participant handoffs.
• Manage delivery against Year 1 targets: enrollments, training, pathway completion and placements.
• Hire and supervise Hub staff and ensure compliance with department authorizations.
• Review enrollment, attendance, completion and placement data monthly and adjust as needed.
• Lead monitoring visits preparation and ensure reporting accuracy.
