Job summary

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree in Sociology or related field.
• At least 1 year in a social services agency in child custody/ICWA.
• Experience with ICWA-related cases encouraged.
• Valid California driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and background/fingerprint checks.

Responsibilities

• Establishes cooperative relationships with community, parents and staff.
• Represents ICWA program to the community.
• Provides intervention services: intake, assessment, counseling, referrals.
• Refers to other social services as needed under ICWA/State guidelines.
• Provides case management and maintains records.
• Tracks resources and coordinates program activities.
• Oversees ICWA advocacy and program operations.
• Acts as liaison to meet reunification requirements.
• Reports monthly/annually to Tribal Council and quarterly to BIA.
• Assists with budgets and scope of work for funding continuity.
• Coordinates Native American education on abuse prevention for the ICWA system.

Education

AA/AS in Sociology
