Job summary

The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) seeks an experienced Director for Charter Schools within the Governance, Leadership, and Community Partnership Division to lead authorizations, oversight, and related compliance.

This role requires strategic leadership, the ability to work with charter leaders, school districts, legal counsel, and OCDE leadership to ensure timely reviews, sound recommendations, and responsible governance across Orange County.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education or Public Administration required.
• Six years of progressive experience in budgets, curriculum, and program development in public/government settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for charter school authorization and oversight.
• Collaborate with charter school leaders, school districts, legal counsel, OCDE leadership, and OCBOE to ensure compliance and effective governance.
• Communicate complex legal, fiscal, academic, and operational information clearly and provide well-supported recommendations.
