Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory is seeking a Division Director for the Centrifuge Enrichment Technology Division. The role directs research, design, and deployment-readiness activities, coordinating with internal teams and external sponsors to advance centrifuge enrichment technology.

The Director will oversee ~200 staff, set strategic directions, manage budgets and schedules, and foster external collaborations to sustain ORNL as a Center of Excellence in isotope enrichment.

Qualifications

• MS degree in engineering or physical sciences with 15+ years in an R&D/engineering environment; PhD preferred.
• Experience leading large organizations (50+ staff) with budget and planning responsibilities.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with strategic vision and collaboration across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead division of ~200 staff, including supervision of section heads and budget planning.
• Develop and execute strategic vision for centrifuge enrichment technology and deployment-readiness.
• Manage external partnerships with government, industry, and sponsors; ensure sponsor commitments are met.
• Represent ORNL before sponsors, advisory committees, and technical communities.
