Poweredbyconcurrent is seeking a Director, Central Planning in Dallas to lead paraplanning and advisor-support across a broad range of client planning needs. This senior role delivers comprehensive planning analysis, strategy support, and execution for Concurrent Financial Advisors and their clients within the Operations department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, financial planning, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in financial planning, paraplanning, or advisor support environments.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing comprehensive financial planning analyses and advisor-facing deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of retirement planning, tax planning concepts, estate and trust planning coordination, insurance planning, and investment planning integration.
  • CFP certification strongly preferred.
  • Advanced planning experience supporting high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth clients preferred.
  • Experience working within a centralized planning or ensemble advisory environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced financial planning and paraplanning support to advisors and planning teams.
  • Support delivery of planning services following CFP Board processes, including data gathering, goal identification, and recommendations.
  • Prepare financial plans, retirement projections, tax-aware analyses, estate and trust summaries, and related deliverables.
  • Construct and update financial plans using approved software and firm workflows.
  • Assist in client meeting preparation with analysis, case prep, and follow-up.
  • Participate in advisor-led client meetings to communicate strategies.
  • Highlight planning observations and opportunities to Lead Advisors.
  • Support implementation coordination and ongoing updates as client circumstances evolve.
  • Provide high-quality planning support to select high-net-worth relationships.
  • Continue professional development in financial planning knowledge and tools.

Description

The Director, Central Planning is a senior paraplanning and advisor-support role responsible for delivering comprehensive financial planning analysis, strategy support, and planning execution for Concurrent Financial Advisors and their clients. This role serves as an advanced centralized planning resource within Concurrent’s Operations department, helping advisors scale their practices through high-quality financial planning support across a broad range of client planning needs.

The primary focus of this role is to support advisors through detailed planning analysis and execution, including retirement planning, tax-aware planning strategies, estate and trust planning coordination, insurance analysis, education planning, cash flow analysis, and other advanced planning considerations. This role operates within a centralized planning model designed to preserve advisor ownership of client relationships while improving planning consistency, efficiency, and scalability across the platform.

Responsibilities

Advanced Financial Planning & Paraplanning Support

  • Provide comprehensive financial planning and paraplanning support to Financial Advisors and planning teams across a broad range of client planning needs and complexities.
  • Support delivery of financial planning services in alignment with the CFP Board’s financial planning process, including: understanding client circumstances, identifying goals, analyzing current strategies and alternatives, developing planning recommendations, supporting presentation of planning strategies, coordinating implementation activities, and assisting with ongoing monitoring and updates.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze client financial data and documentation to support development of comprehensive planning recommendations.
  • Prepare financial plans, investment analyses, retirement projections, tax-aware planning analyses, estate and trust planning summaries, insurance analyses, and related planning deliverables.
  • Construct, maintain, and update financial plans and planning scenarios using approved planning software and firm workflows.
  • Support advisors in preparing for client meetings through planning analysis, case preparation, presentation support, meeting follow-up, and implementation coordination.
  • Participate in advisor-led client meetings to support communication of planning strategies, recommendations, and financial planning concepts.
  • Bring forward planning observations, opportunities, and strategic considerations to Lead Advisors based on client analysis and ongoing planning work.
  • Support implementation coordination and ongoing planning updates as client circumstances evolve over time.
  • Provide high-quality planning support and concierge-level service to select high-net-worth client relationships where appropriate within established service models.
  • Continue advancing financial planning knowledge, technical expertise, and planning responsibility through ongoing professional development and practical application.

Planning Quality, Workflow & Technology Support

  • Help reinforce planning consistency, quality standards, and best practices across the centralized planning team.
  • Assist with development and refinement of planning templates, workflows, SOPs, and documentation standards.
  • Support onboarding, training, and mentorship of planning team members related to planning software, workflows, and planning methodologies.
  • Train and support planners in the use of financial planning platforms and tools including: RightCapital, MoneyGuidePro, eMoney, Holistiplan, Wealth.com, IncomeLab, and related planning technologies.
  • Leverage planning technology and analytical tools to improve planning quality, advisor efficiency, and client outcomes.
  • Assist in developing educational content and planning resources on financial planning topics for advisor and client use.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies, recurring planning challenges, or opportunities for operational improvement and provide recommendations to leadership.

Advisor Collaboration & Team Support

  • Partner closely with advisors and internal stakeholders to support effective utilization of centralized financial planning capabilities.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with Investments, Operations, Insurance, Compliance, and Technology teams to support coordinated planning execution.
  • Serve as a senior planning resource and mentor within the team, supporting collaboration, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all planning activities and deliverables are completed in accordance with firm policies, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, documentation accuracy, and client care across all interactions and planning deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, financial planning, business administration, or related field
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in financial planning, paraplanning, or advisor support environments within an RIA or wealth management firm
  • Demonstrated experience preparing comprehensive financial planning analyses and advisor-facing planning deliverables
  • Strong understanding of: retirement planning, tax planning concepts, estate and trust planning coordination, insurance planning, and investment planning integration.
  • CFP® certification strongly preferred
  • Advanced planning experience supporting high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth clients preferred
  • Experience working within a centralized planning or ensemble advisory environment preferred
  • Familiarity with MoneyGuidePro, eMoney, RightCapital, Black Diamond, Practifi/Salesforce, Fidelity, Schwab, Holistiplan, Wealth.com, IncomeLab, and related planning platforms preferred
