Job summary

Texas Southern University in Houston seeks a Director of the Career Pathways Center to lead internship placement, career counseling, resume/cover letter writing, interview preparation, graduate school information, and related services for students and alumni.

You will collaborate with admissions, academic units, and alumni services to expand career opportunities, provide workshops, and develop employer relations while overseeing program promotion and outcomes reporting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Federal, State, Local, and County laws.
• Policies, procedures, and practices related to higher education career services opportunities.
• Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.

Responsibilities

• Marketing all aspects of the Career Pathways program to the TSU community including students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
• Monitor and track engagement outcomes and provide annual reports on outcome data.
• Develop and deliver presentations/workshops to students on career services topics.
• Develop strategies to build employer recruitment networks and expand internships and job placements.
• Oversee promotional efforts for Career Pathways Center via social media, brochures and other channels.
• Disseminate information on internships, career opportunities, and professional development to students, alumni, faculty and staff.
• Solicit and utilize employer feedback to update programs/services.
• Maintain a current internship database.
• Collect and report internship placement statistics for TSU.
