Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is seeking a Director of Cardiac Services to lead the cardiovascular service line, oversee cardiac rehab operations, and manage administrative aspects including ECMO, CABG, Chest Pain and Structural Heart coordinators. The role advances patient care and hospital outcomes in a Level II trauma center environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for nursing care in the department based on the Nursing Process, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Integrates interdepartmental and intradepartmental services.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures to guide the provision of services.
• Recommends qualified staff to provide care and treatment.
• Ensures staff competency is assessed and maintained.
• Continuously assesses and improves performance of care and services.
• Maintains quality control programs as appropriate.
• Ensures orientation and ongoing training progress for all department staff.
• Recommends space and resources needed by the department.
• Participates in selecting sources for services not provided by the department or organization.
• Supports the hospital's mission, goals, and objectives.
• Maintains and improves nursing and management knowledge.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Cardiovascular Service Line Director is responsible for overseeing the care of patients, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in the cardiac rehab and oversee cardiac admin including ECMO, CABG, Chest Pain and Structural Heart coordinators.

What you will do in the role:

• Responsible and accountable for nursing care rendered in the department, based on the Nursing Process -- assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Integrates service into the organization's primary functions.
• Responsible for coordinating and integrating interdepartmental and intradepartmental services.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
• Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care and treatment.
• Ensures that the competence of all staff members is assessed, maintained, demonstrated, and improved on an on-going basis.
• Continuously assesses and improves the performance of care and services provided.
• Maintains quality control programs, as appropriate.
• Ensures orientation, ongoing training and continuing education progress for all persons in the department.
• Recommends space and other resources needed by the department.
• Participates in selecting sources for needed services not provided by the department or the organization.
• Supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the hospital.
• Maintains and improves own nursing and management knowledge

What qualifications you will need:

• (RN) Registered Nurse license required
• Bachelors Degree required
