Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. invites a Director of Capital Finance to lead the financial translation of the capital program.

You will oversee accuracy of the capital budget in D365 and Adaptive, manage capitalization, and drive control around overruns and reallocations. You will also supervise grant/rebillable receivables and partner with Program Management and Engineering to align financial plans with operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, capital planning, project finance or capital accounting with leadership.
• Experience billing and collecting grant or other reimbursable receivables from government agencies.
• Experience maintaining capital budgets in ERP and planning platforms; Dynamics 365 and Adaptive Insights preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure capital budget integrity in systems of record and proper capitalization.
• Lead capital accounting for cost capture, construction in progress, capitalization and asset creation.
• Oversee billing and receivables for grants and rebillables to government agencies.
• Provide regular reporting on capital status, spend, forecast changes and risks.
• Partner with Program Management, Engineering, Procurement and field leadership.
