Job summary

Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Inc. seeks a Director of Canine Development Operations to lead the Canine Development Center. You will oversee breeding, whelping, kennel management, and caregiver programs, ensuring high welfare and safety standards.

This role partners with veterinary, training, and volunteer teams to align ongoing canine development goals. You will drive strategic planning, budgeting, and operational excellence while fostering a collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in animal care, canine operations, or nonprofit settings.
• Strong budgeting, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Experience leading teams and driving operational excellence in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee breeding, whelping, kennel operations and ensure exceptional dog care.
• Develop SOPs for animal care, sanitation, safety, and efficiency.
• Manage staffing plans, scheduling, and 24/7 coverage for CDC operations.
• Monitor health outcomes, puppy development milestones, and program metrics.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with veterinary, training, volunteer, and development teams.
