Job summary

Bunker Hill Community College is seeking a Director of Facilities Management to provide strategic leadership for its campus facilities operations across multiple locations totaling about 450,000 square feet. The role oversees custodial, grounds, mail, fleet, and maintenance services, with emphasis on safety and service quality.

The position partners with the Executive Director Facilities Planning Construction and Facilities Operations to develop long-range plans, ensures regulatory compliance,

Qualifications

• Strong communication, both oral and written.
• Experience developing and managing budgets and cost-control strategies.
• Proven leadership skills with ability to supervise diverse teams.
• Knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for Facilities Management across all campus locations.
• Develop and implement short- and long-range facilities plans aligned with the College’s strategic goals.
• Direct facilities functions including maintenance, custodial services, grounds, snow/ice removal, mail services, fleet management, and event support.
• Oversee procurement, bid documents, vendor selection, and contract management in accordance with public procurement laws.
• Develop an annual operating budget and monitor expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Promote safety, accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement across facilities operations.
