Job summary

Stanford University’s Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation seeks a Director of Campus Engagement & Communications. This onsite role leads engagement strategies, storytelling, and branding across channels to connect students and the Stanford community with Recreation & Wellness programs.

Reporting to the Executive Director for Recreation & Wellness, you’ll collaborate across campus, supervise staff, and develop campaigns that promote healthy living and inclusive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal communications groups across campus.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex materials and communicate information clearly.
• Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the campus engagement strategy for Recreation and Wellness, expanding student access and participation.
• Lead communications and storytelling across channels, crafting clear messaging for Stanford and external audiences.
• Develop marketing and promotional strategies for Rec & Wellness programs, collaborating across departments.
• Supervise staff responsible for communications and student programming.
• Oversee department websites and content strategy, coordinating with external vendors.
