Title - Associate Director/Director Business Development, Standalone Analytical Services & Biosafety Testing
Location - Boston MA or San Francisco CA
Job Summary
Exciting career opportunity to foster relationships with biotechnological and pharmaceutical firms, formulate business strategies, and capture U.S. market share for standalone services such as early and late-stage process development, formulation enhancement, analytical method validation, release and stability testing and biosafety testing. The role entails staying abreast of competitors and their strategies through ongoing market research and analysis, leveraging this knowledge to shape future service innovations.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with internal teams, including Marketing, Business Development (BD), and CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls), to pinpoint market opportunities and swiftly establish a presence in the U.S. market.
- Develop strong partnerships with relevant biotech and biopharma companies.
- Consistently engage with clients through visits to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and extensions stemming from ongoing projects.
- Formulate targeted account strategies designed for strategic and key clients.
- Partner with the management team to formulate annual business plans and objectives that reflect the current industry trends and conditions.
- Set detailed monthly and quarterly business plans to meet quarterly/annual objectives.
- Provide monthly update to the management team on the US market and trends.
Qualifications
- Minimum BA/BS degree and above in biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, virology, microbiology and other related biosciences majors.
- MBA degree preferred.
- 5+ years of industrial experience in sales or business development roles.
- Business development experience in CRO, especially related to analytical testing, biosafety testing and viral clearance study is a plus.
- Capability to create and deploy effective sales strategies and tactics.
- Successfully demonstrated the ability to thrive in demanding or challenging situations.
- Exhibited proficiency in managing multiple opportunities and projects concurrently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to exhibit effective interpersonal skills.
- Possesses strong communication skills and a wealth of experience in formulating business plans.
- Frequent Travel to customers
The anticipated salary range for this postion is $140,000 - $210,000
