Job summary

Angelini Pharma is seeking a Lead strategic business development professional to drive global growth, portfolio expansion, and partnership opportunities in Rare Diseases.

You will identify prospects, conduct scientific, clinical, medical, and regulatory assessments, manage due diligence, and lead competitive intelligence to build compelling business cases. The role requires senior leadership engagement across R&D, regulatory, and commercial teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• PhD preferred; 5–7 years in pharma/biotech strategy or life sciences.
• At least 3 years in due diligence of assets/companies.
• Proficiency with CI databases (AlphaSense, Biomedtracker, Evaluate) and understanding of drug development.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with AI-enabled tools is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• identify and monitor BD prospects through industry engagement and data tools, conduct preliminary evaluations including scientific, clinical, medical, and regulatory assessments, manage due diligence processes, lead competitive intelligence efforts, and develop patient adoption models;
• collaborate with internal experts and external stakeholders;
• support transition of opportunities to formal due diligence and contribute to business cases.

Requirements:

• advanced scientific degree (PhD preferred), 5-7 years in pharma/biotech strategy or life sciences, with at least 3 years in due diligence of assets/companies;
• proficiency with CI databases (AlphaSense, Biomedtracker, Evaluate, etc.), understanding of drug development across phases, and advanced Excel skills;
• strong communication and organizational skills;
