Job description

About Business Architecture:

The Business Architecture (BA) team is a dynamic strategic organization at the forefront of the Citi Transformation efforts. We act as a catalyst across businesses and functions driving the transformation of Citi into a simpler, customer-centric organization. We are responsible for partnering with business lines and functions to establish and execute the framework, which includes developing enterprise-wide taxonomies, publishing standard playbooks and procedures. We also provide ongoing governance, program oversight, and reporting to ensure consistency, control, and accountability as it relates to the program.

The Process Ownership Assessments (POA) Methodology Design and Operationalization Lead will partner with senior stakeholders in the organization to lead the POA Methodology team responsible for formulating, designing, and defining detailed data needs and technology business requirements; creating detailed test plans and testing the tech implementation; as well as interacting with 2nd line of defense oversight to calibrate and pressure-test the methodology calculations to attain sustainable and well-understood cross-enterprise results.

The Lead and their team are also responsible for designing, executing inward and instituting outwards execution and quality assurance Controls across all Businesses / Functions for the POA methodology and its data quality assurance operationalization, and ensuring these Controls continuous monitoring for effectiveness.

The Lead will understand the broader objectives established by the BA Process Ownership leadership team and BA more broadly to strategically form a sustainable approach in agreement with Citi’s Business and Functions leads. The role will also require coordination with other enterprise areas developing requirements that have inter-dependencies to BA to ensure a consistent solution. Responsible for executing on overall BA priorities.

Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally at various levels across impacted groups. Developed communication skills are required to guide and influence others. The ideal candidate will have experience understanding organization design to develop operating models with the ability to articulate accountability and controls.


Responsibilities:

  • Understand the overall BA methodology to drive the requirements in the organization with stakeholder accountability across the enterprise.
  • Contribute to the delivery of multiple BA transformation programs – including all phases of project planning and discovery, business requirements documents for platforms, interaction with other BA Process Ownership teams and Technology development, providing expertise during user testing, and achieving final operationalization with all required controls and procedures.
  • Participate in BA operational model design including operational standards and procedures, stakeholders’ roles and responsibilities, necessary operating controls and monitoring requirements.
  • Provide inputs to transformation programs on required analytics, calculations, dashboards and workflows to enable delivery of seamless stakeholder role-based operational process and platform journeys for Businesses / Functions and BA.
  • Perform deep-dives, peer reviews, & on-the-ground support for BA transformation requirements; serve as a SME (subject matter expert) and primary point of contact that the organization can leverage for expertise and advice.
  • Articulate the BA transformative improvements and as process and platform requirements with crisp presentations to Businesses / Functions stakeholders to inform, influence and get their buy-ins.
  • Analyze and derive insights from large amounts of complex information, to make informed process and platform requirements recommendations.
  • Communicate progress, status and highlight key risks and issues at various levels of the organization in a timely basis.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experienced individual with strong judgment and communications skills, with emphasis on influencing and challenging engagements towards successful relationship building – to drive progress towards the BA goals.
  • 15+ years of experience preferred in a mix of the following functions: Good practical analytical skills coupled with a thorough understanding of technology development life cycle.
  • Project management knowledge and experience working with a diverse group of senior stakeholders to achieve milestones and deadlines.
  • Meaningful knowledge of the risk management framework, including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls.
  • Design of risk and controls / monitoring governance frameworks, policies and operational standards.
  • Experience working horizontally across an organization and participating in enterprise-wide implementations of major policy and relevant risk programs.
  • Well-developed listening skills and a strong ability to engage with stakeholders by providing proactive support and advice on a variety of subject matters.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, particularly the ability to assess and contribute to the content of key risk and control reporting.
  • Strong demonstrated experience with a proven track record in driving positive and sustained change.
  • Strong ability to engage at various management levels and demonstrated communication experience at different levels of the organization.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of banking operations.
  • Comfortable with providing, and open to accepting independent review and credible challenge.
  • Excellent proficiency in data profiling and Microsoft Office – particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent judgment for independent decision-making – coupled with knowing when to reach out for guidance.
  • Strong attention-to-detail.
