Job summary

Miami-Dade County Public Schools is a large urban district seeking a seasoned Budget and Financial Operations leader to direct district budgeting and financial reporting. The role oversees complex funds, collaborates with departments, and ensures accuracy of the budget process within the M-DCPS system.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in accounting/finance or related field, strong SAP and spreadsheet skills, and at least three years of administrative experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
• Minimum of three years of related administrative experience.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet programs; substantial experience with SAP preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken form.

Responsibilities

• Directs staff in development, implementation and monitoring of the district budget across funds.
• Directs preparation of work papers and schedules of revenues and expenditures.
• Directs reconciliation of adopted budgets to general ledger and call for budget amendments as needed.
• Manages technology needs for developing, implementing and monitoring budgets.
• Directs monthly/quarterly revenue and expenditure projections and forecasts.
• Performs budget training workshops for district staff and participates in bargaining cost analyses.
