Job summary

Edward Jones is seeking a Director of Design & Construction, Branch Real Estate, to lead a national portfolio of design and construction projects, including new locations, renovations, relocations, and decommissions. You will oversee complex projects with a focus on safety, budget, and brand standards, while mentoring a high-performing team of designers and PMs.

You will partner with Finance, Procurement, Legal, IT, Risk, and Operations to drive cost-effective, compliant delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 10+ years leading design and construction projects in corporate/multi-site environments.
• Experience mentoring project managers and design professionals.
• Proven ability to manage large-volume project portfolios with significant capital spend.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control skills.
• Experience managing external partners including architects, contractors, and landlords.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, planning, and execution of design and construction across a large branch office portfolio (new locations, renovations, relocations, decommissions).
• Develop and manage a multi-year project roadmap aligned with objectives and brand standards.
• Oversee budgets, forecasts, and capex/opex; partner with Finance and Procurement for cost control.
• Establish governance, risk management, and compliance across the portfolio.
• Serve as senior escalation point for complex risks and drive process improvements.
• Build partnerships with Transaction Management, Procurement, Legal, IT, Facilities, and Operations.
• Lead relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, landlords, and government agencies.
• Hire, develop, and lead designers and project managers; foster accountability and growth.
• Coordinate design/construction activities by external providers to ensure quality and timelines.
