Job summary

Viridian Therapeutics, Inc. seeks a Director of Biostatistics to lead statistical strategy across clinical programs. You will design analyses, guide data management, and mentor teams while coordinating with CROs and vendors to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

This hybrid role may be based in Waltham, MA or fully remote; travel to headquarters for meetings may be required. Strong regulatory and CDISC experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• PhD with 8+ years or MS with 12+ years relevant Biotech/ pharma experience.
• Excellent statistical knowledge for clinical problems, including rare diseases.
• Proficiency in SAS, R or Python and advanced statistical methods.
• Knowledge of FDA/ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing teams, CROs, vendors and external partnerships.
• Experience supporting regulatory submissions (BLA/NDA/MAA) sought.
• Strong communication skills; ability to lead multiple projects.
• Able to collaborate in a cross-functional matrix environment and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as biostatistics leader for clinical study strategies and timelines.
• Bring innovative statistical thinking to support development programs.
• Collaborate with Data Management and other stakeholders on data analyses.
• Ensure quantitative approaches across diverse data types are applied.
• Mentor staff, manage contractors, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Oversee statistical sections in CDISC submissions and study reports.
• Plan and track biostatistics activities, timelines, and resources.
• Interact with regulatory agencies and address statistical questions.
• Review SOPs and work instructions related to biostatistics.
