Job summary

Michael Page is assisting a globally recognized financial services client seeking an hands-on Azure Engineering leader to design and build next-generation cloud solutions. You will lead two small engineering teams, mentor engineers, and drive architectures, standards, and AI-enabled automation using Azure OpenAI and Copilot.

The role emphasizes hybrid work with three days on-site in Midtown Manhattan, plus an option to work from the Warren, NJ site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams in a hands-on leadership capacity.
• Deep expertise designing and building Azure cloud solutions for enterprise functions.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications, integrations, APIs, serverless solutions, and enterprise platforms.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, architectures, and modern engineering practices.
• Background leading multiple development workstreams while remaining close to code.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and building high-performing teams.
• Knowledge of AI, GenAI, Azure OpenAI, Copilot, or intelligent automation.
• Hybrid working arrangement with 3 days per week in Midtown Manhattan, NJ office option.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of enterprise-scale Azure cloud solutions across Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance, and other business functions.
• Drive a greenfield engineering initiative, establishing architecture, frameworks, standards, and best practices from the ground up.
• Remain hands-on in technical design and coding activities while guiding teams.
• Lead two small engineering teams with a hands-on, player-coach leadership style.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers to grow technical capability and leadership.
• Define modern application architecture patterns, reusable frameworks, and engineering standards.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable cloud solutions.
• Identify and implement AI, GenAI, and intelligent automation opportunities using Azure OpenAI and Copilot.
• Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Shape long-term cloud engineering strategy while remaining involved in delivery.

Description

• Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale Azure cloud solutions across Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance, and other business functions

• Help shape the long‑term cloud engineering strategy while remaining actively involved in delivery

Profile

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams in a hands‑on technical leadership capacity
• Strong expertise designing and building solutions within Microsoft Azure cloud environments
• Experience developing cloud‑native applications, integrations, APIs, serverless solutions, and enterprise platforms
• Deep understanding of application architecture, software design patterns, frameworks, and modern engineering practices
• Background leading multiple development workstreams while remaining close to the code
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and building high‑performing technical teams
• Knowledge of AI, GenAI, Azure OpenAI, Copilot, or intelligent automation solutions
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience delivering enterprise technology solutions within complex business environments
• Prior exposure to .NET/C# development is beneficial but not the primary focus of the role
• Hybrid working arrangement with 3 days per week in Midtown Manhattan. (They also have an office in Warren, NJ so there is flexiblity to work from that site from time to time if it happens to be more convenient)
