Job summary

AB CarVal, a global alternative investment manager and part of AllianceBernstein, seeks a Director of Asset Manager Audit & Due Diligence in Minneapolis (with London). You will lead operational due diligence reviews of external asset managers, evaluate governance, controls, and risk management, and produce comprehensive reports to support manager selection and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA designation required.
• 10+ years of experience in public accounting, internal audit, operational due diligence or financial services auditing.
• Experience evaluating internal controls, financial statements, and operational processes.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed due diligence reports and executive summaries.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct operational due diligence reviews of external asset managers and other investment counterparties.
• Evaluate the design and effectiveness of control environments, governance structures, risk management frameworks, and compliance programs.
• Review audited financial statements, regulatory filings, SOC reports, compliance policies, and other due diligence materials.
• Assess accounting, valuations, cash management, cybersecurity, vendor oversight, and related operational processes.
• Perform onsite and virtual due diligence meetings with senior management and control personnel.
• Document findings in comprehensive due diligence reports and support ongoing monitoring.
