Job summary

SEI Corporation seeks an Attorney-Director to lead legal support for its global asset management platform. You will counsel on investment products, fund governance, distribution strategies, and regulatory matters across major regimes.

You will collaborate with product, compliance, risk, and business teams to balance legal requirements with strategic growth. The role emphasizes practical, business-focused advice, multi-jurisdictional issues, and leadership in governance and policy development

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 7–10 years advising registered investment companies, investment advisers, broker-dealers, or other asset management participants.
• Strong working knowledge of federal securities laws and regulations applicable to registered investment products and advisory businesses.
• Ability to independently analyze complex legal and regulatory issues and deliver practical, business-aligned advice.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise on investment products and advisory operations, including governance, design, launch, operation, and distribution of funds and other offerings.
• Advise on matters under the Investment Company Act, Investment Advisers Act, Securities Act, Exchange Act, SEC and FINRA requirements, ERISA, and related frameworks.
• Support governance of SEI’s proprietary investment products, including funds’ boards and committees.
• Counsel investment advisory and related teams on portfolio management, trading, valuation, disclosure, conflicts, fiduciary obligations, and regulatory changes.
• Partner with product, investment, distribution, operations, technology, compliance, and risk teams; evaluate new products and growth initiatives; provide practical, compliant guidance.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret investment management, distribution, servicing, platform, and partnership agreements; assess disclosure and regulatory considerations.
• Monitor regulatory developments and support examinations, inquiries, audits, investigations, and remediation efforts; help design scalable governance and controls.
