Job summary

Google is seeking a Director of Applied AI Research & Future of Work to architect Google’s strategic narratives and empirical research agenda on how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies reshape work, skills, and organizational structures.

Leveraging deep data and telemetry across Google’s Product Areas—including Cloud, Gemini, Workspace, and DeepMind you will lead rigorous, longitudinal applied research on changing role dynamics, leadership requirements, and corporate culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or social science field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of professional experience, or 13 years with an advanced degree.
• 7 years leading and scaling applied-research or analytics teams.
• Experience translating technical findings into executive narratives.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute longitudinal, data-backed research initiatives evaluating the economic, behavioral, and organizational impacts of applied AI and agentic workflows.
• Translate empirical research findings into actionable workforce strategies, leadership models, and executive frameworks for Google leadership and enterprise customer engagements.
• Lead cross-functional research partnerships across Google Research, DeepMind, Cloud, and academic economists to co-author and publish pioneering workplace studies.
