Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years leading development teams as a Team Lead/Development Manager/Sr. Manager.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps tooling such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience building or adapting APIs for custom applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

About the role

A leading credit union is investing in technology and needs a hands‑on development manager to lead its application team. You’ll manage a team of 7 developers, stay close to the code, and deliver the systems members and associates rely on every day. This isn’t a maintenance role. We’re modernizing core platforms and integrating new systems, and you’ll lead the team that builds them.

This is a player‑coach role. You’ll split your time between leading the team and contributing technically through architecture, code reviews, and hands‑on development when the work calls for it.

What you’ll do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 7 developers, including day‑to‑day guidance, code reviews, and career development
• Own delivery for your team’s projects, from design and development through testing, UAT, and release
• Put team standards into practice: coding practices, TDD, version control, and documentation
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices, with security built in from the start
• Lead integration work across business‑critical systems, including APIs, data migration, and system‑to‑system communication
• Work with business and product stakeholders to turn requirements into working solutions
• Recommend tools and improvements to IT leadership based on what the team needs

What you bring

• 8+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years leading or managing development teams as a Team Lead, Development Manager, or Sr. Manager
• A track record of delivering projects on schedule while managing a team
• Experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps tooling such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, or Azure DevOps
• Experience building or adapting APIs for custom applications
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
