Job summary

Sutter Health is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) leader to serve as the Director of APC Clinical Education and Student Placement. This systemwide role will strategically oversee APC student placements and strengthen academic partnerships across the organization.

You will collaborate with NP, PA, and CNM programs, academic partners, and clinical leaders to expand learner capacity and ensure high-quality clinical education aligned with Destination 2030 workforce goals.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as NP/APRN or PA-C with active license in California.
• Minimum five years of clinical practice experience.
• Experience leading projects, programs, or educational initiatives.
• Demonstrated clinical teaching, precepting, or learner supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide systemwide oversight of APC student placements across the health system.
• Develop strategies to expand high-quality clinical training opportunities while balancing operations and education.
• Partner with clinical leaders and placement coordinators to optimize capacity and learner distribution.
• Establish standardized processes and expectations for APC student placements.
• Monitor metrics, learner demand, and institutional partnerships.
• Serve as Academic Affairs liaison to APC educational institutions.
• Collaborate to align clinical experiences with curricular objectives and accreditation requirements.
