Job summary

Elanco Tiergesundheit AG in Indianapolis, IN, USA, seeks a Director of Analytical Development to lead a high-performing team advancing small molecule drug product pipelines. You will set analytical strategy and drive technical transfer to manufacturing.

This role requires a PhD in analytical sciences or equivalent and 8–12 years of pharma experience, with strong GMP/VICH knowledge and a track record mentoring teams. Hybrid work environment with international travel.

Qualifications

• PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field, or a Master’s with extensive equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years (PhD) or 12 years (Master’s) of progressive pharmaceutical analytical/CMC development experience.
• Proven ability to guide and mentor scientific teams and collaborate across R&D, Manufacturing, and Regulatory.

Responsibilities

• Guide, coach, and develop a high-performing team of 5–10 scientists.
• Provide scientific and operational direction for analytical development from early-stage through transfer to manufacturing.
• Develop and implement analytical strategies aligned with SMTD objectives.
• Serve as subject matter expert on complex analytical challenges and represent Elanco in regulatory interactions.
• Foster cross-functional alignment with internal and external partners to ensure project execution.
