Job description

Build the next generation of allied health workforce programs at Excelsior, creating innovative pathways that connect learners with high-demand healthcare careers and employers with skilled talent.

The Director, Allied Health Programs provides entrepreneurial, operational, and academic leadership for the development, launch, growth, and continuous improvement of noncredit allied health workforce programs within Excelsior University's Center for Executive and Professional Education (CEPE).

The Director's initial priority will be developing and delivering hybrid Medical Assistant and/or Certified Nursing Assistant certification-preparation programming that combines online learning with hands-on laboratory education at Excelsior's St. Petersburg, Florida location. The Director will subsequently evaluate and develop additional high-demand allied health offerings based on workforce demand, employer needs, regulatory feasibility, student outcomes, and financial sustainability.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President, CEPE, this role works cross-functional with compliance, academic affairs, legal, finance, marketing, enrollment, facilities, technology, and student support to create marketable, compliant, scalable programs that prepare learners for industry certifications and employment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, approval, launch, operation, and growth of CEPE's allied health portfolio, beginning with Medical Assistant and/or Certified Nursing Assistant programming.
  • Develop a multi-year allied health portfolio strategy informed by workforce demand, employer needs, regulatory requirements, competitive analysis, and financial sustainability.
  • Develop program business cases, budgets, enrollment forecasts, pricing recommendations, implementation plans, risk assessments, and performance dashboards.
  • Ensure curricula, laboratory experiences, assessments, policies, staffing, and student disclosures align with certification, employer, institutional, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead regulatory, compliance, accreditation, and certification-related activities in collaboration with institutional stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain laboratory safety, competency verification, equipment, supply, incident-response, and operational procedures.
  • Recruit, supervise, evaluate, and develop instructors, subject-matter experts, and program support personnel.
  • Build partnerships with healthcare employers, workforce organizations, and community partners to support program design, experiential learning, and employment pathways.
  • Establish and lead an allied health employer advisory structure.
  • Partner with marketing, enrollment, and student-support teams on recruitment, onboarding, retention, certification support, and career readiness.
  • Monitor enrollment, retention, completion, certification, employment, satisfaction, revenue, expense, and contribution-margin performance and drive continuous improvement.
