Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

This position is responsible for working with the Vice President, Air Service Development to develop and implement short- and long-term strategies to maximize passenger operations in support of CVG Airport's strategic plan. This position promotes and markets CVG to aviation industry targets and collaborates with airport community stakeholders to grow passenger activity and expand both domestic and international services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Directs, delegates and reviews assigned work. Provides coaching, counseling and staff development. Evaluates performance and applies organizational policies and procedures.
  • Overall responsibility for establishing the goals and objectives of the passenger services initiatives consistent with the organization’s priorities and ensuring applicable resources are available to accomplish the goals and objectives.
  • Develops and implements strategies to grow the services of existing CVG carriers and attract new air carriers to be part of the airport's network; including strategies to attract and retain passenger airlines, focusing on expanding domestic and international routes.
  • Maintains awareness of and communicates high impact issues, critical needs and areas of special concern or urgent/vital interest with regard to air service operations.
  • Partners and collaborates with community stakeholders and customers, including operational employees, business leaders, and aviation industry leaders to gather the necessary data and relevant information regarding passenger services.
  • Leads passenger air service development efforts by conducting market research, business analysis, and demand forecasting to identify opportunities for new routes and expanded air service at CVG.
  • Monitors passenger traffic trends and performance metrics, prepares reports and forecasts, and uses data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and airline engagement initiatives.
  • Develops and launches new routes with new and incumbent carriers.
  • Develops and maintains strategic application of the CVG Air Service Incentive Program.
  • Leads air service development and operational initiatives by coordinating cross-functional resources and stakeholders to support the timely and cost-effective delivery of passenger focused projects.
  • Manages departmental financial activities, including financial analysis, policy development, annual budget preparation, justification, administration, and performance monitoring, in partnership with Finance and other departments.
  • Works in conjunction with government affairs to track, monitor, and interpret international, federal, state and other agency regulators concerning laws and air policies affecting airport operations and services.
  • Assesses and analyzes the impact of potential changes to policies, procedures, and new services on existing carriers
  • Actively participates in the campus workforce efforts to ensure continued success of the support operations.
  • Manages and coordinates the development of air service related marketing materials, collateral and promotions in conjunction with internal stakeholders.
  • Works across department/divisions to facilitate various activities to ensure efficient coordination of projects including schedule, budget, and resources to ensure the ongoing development of the airport to meet the priorities set by leadership and the Kenton County Airport Board.
  • Provides leadership and works with staff and consultants to ensure a high-performance, service-oriented work environment that supports achieving CVG’s and Department’s goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for all contract management activities as documented in KCAB Policy 1014, Contract Management. As the subject matter expert responsible for all key aspects of contract management ensuring KCAB’s interests are represented in any business activities regarding the agreement. Prepares RFP’s, bid specifications, and negotiates contracts.
  • Assists with preparing and developing documents relating to department goals, policies and future needs.
  • Maintains membership in appropriate professional and/or industry related associations.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS
Required
  • Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance.
  • Obtain and maintain position appropriate NIMS & emergency training.
  • Ability to travel Domestic and International at least eighty percent of the time.
  • Valid drivers license.
Additional Security Levels Required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain position appropriate Federal security clearance
Airfield Driving

This position does not require airfield or ramp driving.
