Job summary

UWL, Inc. in Schaumburg, IL, is seeking an accomplished Air Freight leader to drive strategy, growth, and profitability across air freight operations. You will own revenue, KPIs, and pricing strategy while leading cross-functional teams and building scalable processes for a superior customer experience.

You will negotiate with carriers, manage vendors, and focus on compliance and continuous improvement to expand our air freight footprint and profitability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in international freight forwarding or global logistics with air freight responsibility.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.
• Proven success in sales support, product development, and profitability.
• Strong knowledge of air freight operations, pricing, capacity, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute air freight strategy, budgets, forecasts, and growth priorities.
• Own revenue, gross profit, volume, yield, and trade lane profitability; set KPI targets.
• Lead carrier procurement, rate negotiations, and service agreements.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with sales, operations, and technology.
• Lead executive-level customer engagements and growth plans for strategic accounts.
