AstraZeneca seeks an AI Strategy & Innovation Director to shape the AI roadmap for clinical development, spanning biostatistics, data management, and enterprise AI engineering. Based in Gaithersburg, MD, you will bridge AI for Clinical Development with Biometrics, delivering scalable, compliant AI capabilities that shorten trial cycles and improve outcomes.

You will lead cross-functional delivery, align data governance, and translate complex statistical workflows into practical AI solutions,

Qualifications

Master's degree in AI/ML, biostatistics, data science, health informatics, or related field.
5+ years in digital health, AI/ML, or technology-driven healthcare/drug development environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

Serve as the strategic bridge between AI for Clinical Development and Biometrics; define and drive the AI roadmap.
Translate Biometrics priorities into an actionable pipeline with measurable benefits.
Coordinate delivery across teams and therapy areas to realize value from pilots to scaled capabilities.
Align IT, data teams and governance to ensure audit-ready, regulated AI solutions.
