Job summary

WAI GLOBAL in the United States seeks a Director, AI Platform Engineer to lead the design and governance of an enterprise AI data foundation, ML workflows, and production-ready AI capabilities. You will own the data lake, ingestion, cleansing, and reliable access for AI tools and dashboards.

You will partner with IT, data owners, and the AI Automation team to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-efficient AI platforms, optimize performance, and drive governance with source traceability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software/data/AI engineering or related roles.
• Experience designing/leading production data platforms and analytics environments.
• Hands-on with data pipelines, SQL, Python, APIs, cloud platforms, data modeling, orchestration.
• Hands-on with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompts and AI orchestration.
• Experience with ERP/CRM/catalog/inventory/product data is a plus.
• Experience directing offshore/remote engineering teams or vendors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and improvement of AI-ready data and platform foundations.
• Architect and govern a centralized data lake for enterprise data access by AI tools.
• Identify bottlenecks, implement RPA, and optimize data workflows.
• Own AI/ML/LLM workflows, RAG, embeddings, vector search, dashboards, and APIs.
• Build trusted data layer with quality, lineage, and source traceability.
• Develop ML methods for forecasting, anomaly detection, and risk identification.
• Develop grounded LLM workflows with source references and explanations.
• Deploy cost-efficient pipelines, models, and dashboards with governance.
• Provide technical direction to offshore engineers, data/integration teams, and vendors.
