Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods, Inc. is seeking a Director, Corporate Counsel – Artificial Intelligence to lead governance and counseling for AI initiatives across our digital and product platforms.

You will translate evolving laws and standards into practical business guidance and work with product, engineering, data science, and commercial teams. The role focuses on AI governance, risk assessment, and contracting support, with collaboration across Privacy, Security, IP, Regulatory, and Procurement.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of relevant legal experience in technology transactions, product counseling, data privacy, intellectual property, or consumer protection.
• Experience supporting retail, e-commerce, or SaaS businesses is preferred but not required.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise AI-enabled products and internal tools throughout their lifecycle, including ideation, design, testing, launch, monitoring, and retirement.
• Analyze AI regulatory developments and translate them into practical guidance for product and business teams.
• Draft and negotiate AI-related contractual provisions and data rights protections with senior counsel guidance.
• Develop governance programs, playbooks, and templates to scale responsible AI across functions.
• Coordinate with Privacy, Security, IP, Regulatory, Procurement, and Commercial Legal to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
