About the Director of AI Engineering - Transform Review
This role leads a team responsible for flagship AI products like Review Center, aiR for Review, and aiR for Privilege. The director will unify architecture and organization to transform and redefine document review in the legal industry.
The leader will accelerate AI innovation, collaborate with product management to meet customer needs, and ensure AI solutions align with our principles and mission. The Transform Review team comprises over 50 engineers and product leaders focused on automating and innovating our products, working closely with other AI organization leaders.
Job Description and Requirements
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent Relativity's AI strategy and key product efforts for the flagship aiR products.
- Own features, technology functions, and team development within the AI strategy, evolving as the team grows.
- Represent Relativity at industry events and with customers.
- Build and recruit a cross-functional AI team through outreach and partnerships.
- Lead initiatives with clear prioritization and effective communication.
- Collaborate with engineering, data science, and product teams to scale solutions.
- Prioritize technical investments, tech debt, and architecture improvements.
- Mentor team members, promote innovation, and foster a learning culture.
- Inspire with a vision of AI transforming Relativity.
- Advise leadership on innovative technologies for partnerships or acquisitions.
- Encourage data curiosity and scalable data use.
- Develop practices for onboarding engineers and growing AI skills across offices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, including 3-5 years in leadership roles in AI/ML development.
- Experience building and scaling AI products, especially generative AI.
- Proficiency in leveraging data for knowledge retrieval, search, and ML solutions in mission-critical environments.
- Experience leading software teams and transformation strategies in a global organization.
- Proven leadership and ability to deliver complex solutions.
- Experience with product and vendor selection and negotiation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of data science project lifecycles and techniques.
- Experience managing data quality systems.
- Experience operating in cloud environments like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of modern programming languages and cloud compute environments.
- Experience with SaaS/Cloud systems and distributed teams.
- Experience launching and growing new products in a dynamic industry.
- Background in machine learning, statistics, and Generative AI APIs.
- Experience creating customer-centric SaaS experiences.
- Familiarity with big data infrastructure and cloud-native components.
- Leadership experience with geographically distributed teams.
Relativity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
This position offers a total compensation package including base salary, performance bonuses, and incentives.
The salary range is between $195,000 and $293,000, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The top of the range is not typical to allow for future salary growth.
