Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director, AI Engineer (Remote Eligible) to lead AI engineering efforts and build scalable, responsible AI systems across enterprise platforms. You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, PMs and compliance to deliver AI-powered products and governance frameworks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, AI, EE, CE or related field with 6–8+ years of AI/ML experience
3+ years of people leadership experience
Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms
Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics
Ability to translate AI strategy into execution across multiple product areas
Proven track record in building enterprise AI systems

Responsibilities

Lead cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
Oversee design, development, testing, deployment and support of AI software components
Make build-vs-buy decisions across Open Source and SaaS AI tech
Invent optimization techniques to improve performance and scalability
Contribute to long-term AI platform strategy and governance
Foster talent development and mentorship across teams
