Job summary

Ottimate is seeking a Director of AI Engineering to own the full AI/ML layer of our accounts payable platform. This hands-on leadership role combines system architecture with coding, delivering autonomous AP agents and a conversational Copilot for enterprise customers.

You will lead a 8–10 person distributed team, set the AI roadmap, and partner with Product, Data, and Platform Engineering to ship scalable, observable systems.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building production AI/ML systems.
• Experience leading engineering teams in startup or growth-stage environments.
• Strong knowledge of model quality, observability, and deployment.
• Experience with agentic AI workflows and multi-agent orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship production AI/ML systems with hands-on coding.
• Own the AI roadmap end-to-end: prioritization, trade-offs, delivery.
• Manage a distributed team of 8-10 engineers across Data and ML.
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to deliver autonomous AP agents.
